edmundo.jpgWorked for over 35 years on different aspects of sustainable development, with particular attention on labour and the built environment. Joined the ILO in 2004, after coordinating the private sector, environment and urban development agendas of UNDP's UN Volunteers Programme. Before joining the UN system, undertook consultancies for several organizations, including WHO, European Commission, the World Bank, UN-Habitat, UNCDF/UNDP, UNRISD, ILO and local governments. PhD in development planning from the University of London (UK), an MPhil in development studies from the University of Sussex (UK), and a Bachelor's degree in urbanism and architecture from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil).
