SPIEZLE Craig

Craig is a recognized though leader on trust and the convergence of privacy and security promoting responsible privacy practices, end-to-end security and data stewardship. Since being appointed as President and Executive Director in 2009, Craig has expanded OTA championing best practices to help protect consumer trust and promote the importance of innovation, governance and meaningful self-regulation. Craig frequently briefs members of Congress on the importance of trust and the shared responsibility of members of the ecosystem.  Under Craig's leadership OTA formed the IoT Trustworthy Working Group and the first international coalition of stakeholders chartered with the formation of a security, privacy and sustainability framework.  Prior to OTA, Craig spent over a decade at Microsoft.  As Director of Security & Privacy Product Management, Craig led the development of anti-spam, anti-phishing and privacy enabling technologies. During his tenure, Spiezle championed digital inclusiveness and the societal impact of internet literacy and access. Spiezle holds a Bachelor’s of Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a MBA from Seattle University. Craig is a member of InfraGard a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the private sector, the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG), and the London Action Plan, an international spam enforcement network.​
