WIETFELD Christian

CHRISTIAN WIETFELD is full professor and head of the Communication Networks Institute (CNI) of TU Dortmund University, Germany. Christian received his Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degrees from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. Since more than 20 years, he has contributed to and coordinated national and international research projects on mobile and wireless data communication systems in academia and industry (Siemens AG). Currently, Christian is guiding 25 researchers in mainly 3rd party funded projects. He has published over 165 peer-reviewed publications and various patents. For his contributions to the standardization of next generation mobile network architectures, he received an ITU-T outstanding contribution award (SG11 WP3). Christian Wietfeld chairs the IEEE's German sister organization VDE/ITG committee on "Communication Networks and Systems" and has co-founded the IEEE GLOBECOM Workshop on Wireless Networking for Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (Wi-UAV).
