DUFLOS Eric

Eric  Duflos S2P1.jpgEric has over 20 years of experience in advancing financial inclusion.  Based in New York, he leads the team that supports Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands in her work as UN Secretary General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. Prior to this, Eric has worked for CGAP for 13 years. His last assignment was as CGAP regional representative for East Asia and the Pacific based in Singapore. At CGAP, Eric’s research and advice on financial inclusion have focused on policy and regulatory issues, digital finance, customer centricity, and aid effectiveness. He has taught policy issues and financial inclusion at the Turin/Boulder course, and at Sciences-Po, Paris, and lectured at several universities in Singapore. He regularly authors articles and publications including two reports on financial inclusion and digital finance in China. Before joining CGAP, Eric has worked seven years in the Lao PDR for the UNCDF, the Bank of Lao PDR, and the World Bank. He holds a master’s degree in management from EM Lyon, and a master’s in economics and international relations from SAIS, Johns Hopkins University. ​
