Architect from the Universidad de los Andes, expert in urban planning and sustainable land management. She has worked for eleven years in the area of planning, urban design and architecture, developing more than 40 projects, for a total of 10.000 hectares designed and 1.800 homes built. As a partner in different firms she has been responsible of relevant projects, the most important being: Integrated Transport System - Transmilenio by the Seventh Street, the first urban renovation plan in the city of Bogota, called Proscenio, the first “UAU” where the City Hall of Barranquilla will be located, among many others. She coordinated the studies of urban growth for the “Competitive and sustainable cities initiative” of Findeter in the cities of Valledupar, Villavicencio, Cartagena and Riohacha. Was the expert in sustainable planning for the project Nama Habitat in Colombia and for the development of the urban regulations for 9 municipalities in Bolivia. She currently directs the area of City and territory for IDOM Colombia.
Arquitecta de la Universidad de los Andes, experta en Planificación Urbana y Ordenamiento Territorial Sostenible. Ha trabajado por once años en el área de planificación, diseño urbano y arquitectura, desarrollando más de 40 proyectos, para un total de 10.000 hectáreas diseñadas y 1.800 viviendas construidas. Dentro de las firmas de las que ha hecho parte, ha sido responsable de importantes proyectos, entre los que destacan: el Transmilenio de la Carrera Séptima de la capital colombiana, el primer Plan Parcial de Renovación Urbana de Bogotá, llamado Proscenio, la UAU “La Loma” en donde se relocalizará la Alcaldía de Barranquilla. Coordinó el módulo de crecimiento urbano de la “Iniciativa Ciudades Sostenibles y Competitivas” de Findeter, para las ciudades de Valledupar, Villavicencio, Cartagena y Riohacha. Fue la experta en urbanismo sostenible para el proyecto Nama Habitat en Colombia y para el desarrollo de la normativa urbana en 9 municipios en Bolivia. Actualmente dirige el área de Ciudad y Territorio dentro de Idom Colombia.

The accelerated and informal urban growth of the Colombian cities in the recent decades, requires a new way of thinking from the emerging cities of Colombia, with an integrated, sustainable, participatory and long-term approach and with the participation of infinity of institutions public and private, is intended to build a model of consensus, where the interests of the citizens are taken into account.
This study pretends that the urban design of the cities of the 21st century, consider a defined urban limit, which does not contain diffuse transitions towards the rural areas, looking for a compact structure, cohesive socially, with spaces of sociability, as well as generous green areas and public spaces, ensuring a resilient city against natural disasters, and creating a territory close to public services , what allows improving the quality of life of the Colombian people.
El crecimiento acelerado y desordenado de las ciudades colombinas en las últimas décadas, requiere un nuevo modo de pensar las ciudades emergentes de Colombia, con un enfoque integral, sostenible, participativo, y de largo plazo; con la participación de infinidad de instituciones públicas y privadas, se pretende construir un modelo de consenso, donde converjan la mayoría de los intereses ciudadanos.
Se pretende que el diseño urbano de las ciudades del siglo XXI, considere un límite urbano definido, que no contenga transiciones difusas hacia lo rural, buscando una estructura y trama compacta, cohesionada socialmente, con espacios de sociabilidad, así como dotaciones generosas de áreas verdes y espacio público, procurando una ciudad resiliente frente a los desastres naturales, y creando un territorio con cercanía a los servicios, lo que permita mejorar la calidad de vida de los colombianos.
