Ghani Abbas has spent over twenty years in SDH and Optical Networks business with Marconi and Ericsson. He is currently an international standards Consultant with Ericsson DUIB Technology, Network Architecture group.
He previously held various engineering development and management posts. Ghani is ITU-T SG15 WP3 Chairman and SG15 vice chair. Ghani is a member of the OIF board of Directors and an active member of IEEE802.3. He holds a number of patents in transport network technologies.
Ghani received B.Sc (Honour) and M.SC from Manchester University in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Ph.D degree in Electronics from Southampton University, UK.
