Biographies

 

Nabil Abdennadher, INIT, Genève

Nabil Abdennadher received his engineering degree from the ENSI (Tunisia), and a PhD degree from the University of Valenciennes (France). Since 2001, he is professor at University of applied sciences, western Switzerland (HES-SO), Geneva site. His major research interests include grid, volunteer and cloud computing. He's currently leading several projects funded by HES-SO, the Swiss confederation and the European community. Nabil Abdennadher is head of the inIT research institute at HES-SO (hepia, Geneva site) and member of the Executive Board of the Swiss national Grid association.
Nabil Abdennadher a reçu son diplôme d’ingénieur de l’Ecole Nationale des Sciences de l’Informatique (ENSI, Tunis) et son doctorat de l’Université de Valenciennes en France. Il est professeur HES à la haute école du paysage d’ingénierie et d’architecture (hepia Genève) depuis 2001. Ses domaines de recherche concernent le calcul volontaire et de haute performance, le grid et le cloud computing. Nabil Abdennadher participe dans plusieurs projets de recherche financés par la confédération Suisse et la communauté Européenne. Il est responsable de l’institut d’ingénierie informatique et des télécommunications (inIT) à hepia Genève et membre du comité exécutif de « Swiss National Grid Association » (SwiNG) depuis 2007.

Fayçal BOUJEMAA travaille à France Télécom-Orange, où il est actuellement membre de l’équipe "Stratégie Technologie" du Groupe en charge des dossiers "Information Technology".
 
Auparavant, il a occupé plusieurs postes de responsabilité au sein de "Orange Labs" (anciennement FT R&D et CNET) dont : directeur de la stratégie du domaine "services aux Entreprises", directeur des programmes de recherche "Cloud/SaaS and Service Composition" et "Collaborative Real-Time Enterprise".
 
Il a reçu "l'Orange Labs Award" de la recherche 2011 et la distinction "Group Talent" en 2005.
 
Il est expert en Cloud Computing & Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), en Architecture et Urbanisme de Systèmes d'Information, en Architecture de Systèmes Distribués et en Systèmes Temps-Réel. Il est aussi spécialiste des questions de "Future Internet" et de l'évolution des opérateurs de télécoms.
 
Il a animé le groupe de travail "Recherche &Technologie" du projet "Andromède" (Cloud français de confiance dans le cadre des "Investissements d'avenir" en France).
 
Il a été membre de l'équipe CNET cofondatrice, avec Bull et INRIA, de la communauté "Object Web".
 
Il a été cofondateur-Directeur Technique d'Euralba (start-up acquise et intégrée à FT R&D en 2004).
 
Il est régulièrement orateur / formateur devant des auditoires professionnels et académiques.
 
Fayçal BOUJEMAA est un ancien élève de l’Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tunis et de l’Université Paris-Sud, Orsay.
Moez Chakchouk, Tunisian Internet Agency
Graduated from the Sup’Com Engineering School, Tunisia in 1998, M. Chakchouk received his M.S in telecommunications from the ENIT Engineering School in 2001. In February 2009, he achieved his Ph.D in telecommunications applied to mathematics, under the joint tuition of El Manar University, Tunisia and Paris Descartes University, France.
He started his career in 1998 as a research engineer in The National Center for Telecommunication Studies and Research (CERT) and as a member of the R&D project PINA. In 2002, he became the chief of the R&D project: RACINES. Then, he joined in July 2005 the Telecommunications Regulation Authority (INT), first as chief of technical department, later he became the Head of Interconnection & Access. In March 2010, he was appointed as Adviser to the Minister of Communications Technology.
Few weeks after the Tunisian revolution, M. Chakchouk was designated Chairman and CEO of the Tunisian Internet Agency (ATI), where he decided first that this public enterprise won’t be anymore a censorship machine, he choose to  look further ahead for the development of the Internet in Tunisia.
Jamil Chawki, ITU-T Study Group 13 and France Telecom Orange

​Dr Jamil CHAWKI leads, since June 2008, core network & Cloud computing standardization domain for France Telecom R&D/Orange Labs and active contributor to ITU-T cloud standards. Before this position, Jamil was a deputy director for Enterprise 2.0 Cloud computing research program working on Software as a Service ‘SaaS’ marketplace architecture & strategy for France Telecom R&D. In 2004 he was in charge of the first Fibre To The Home ‘FTTH’ Triple Play pilot project for Jordan Telecom. From 2000 to 2002, he was appointed as Chairman and CEO of Ogero Telecom, a fixed telecom operator in Lebanon. He was in charge of network and Information System OSS/BSS restructuring for Ogero Telecom and he supervised the implementation of first Gigabit Ethernet data network in the Middle East region. Before 2000 he has worked 10 years as a research manager in the optical WDM and IP transport network at France Telecom R&D.
 
Jamil was a Vice Chairman of ITU-T Focus Group Cloud and is currently Chairman of ITU-T Cloud Working Party in Study Group Future Networks (WP6-SG13).
chebbi.jpgAnis Chebbi, Microsoft
As Services Executives of Microsoft in Tunisia, Anis Chebbi has a number of responsibilities spanning business strategy and operations.
Throughout his 15-year career in the IT industry, Anis has held a variety of technical, sales and managerial roles in different parts of the Middle East and in Africa. Anis participated as a speaker in many regional IT Conferences.
Anis joined Microsoft in December 2002 as the developer Program Manager for Microsoft North Africa. After a successful two years in that role, he assumed additional responsibilities for the area of Middle East and in Africa.
In May 2008, Anis was named as the Services Executives, for a newly consolidated Microsoft North Africa East Mediterranean and Pakistan. In this role, he led the efforts to transform and grow the company's services business in that region.
Anis graduated from the University of Computer Science in Tunisia. He is married and has three sons, and enjoys music, Mountain biking.

​Maître Mohamed HAMOUDA, est né à Tunis le 27 novembre 1953, il est marié et père de trois enfants.

​Dr. Bilel Jamoussi is Chief of the Study Groups Department at the International Telecommunication Union Standardization Bureau in Geneva Switzerland where he is responsible for the organization and management of the ITU-T Study Groups, Focus Groups, Global Standardization Initiatives, Joint Coordination Activities, and their secretariat.

Before joining ITU, Bilel was with Nortel for 15 years in Canada and then the United States where he held several leadership positions including Strategic Standards, Advanced Technology, University Research, Software Development for routing/switching platforms, and Data Network Engineering of major international customer networks.

As Director of the Strategic Standards organization within the office of the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Bilel provided strategic technology direction and leadership for Nortel’s involvement in more than 90 standards development organizations, forums and consortia. He also contributed to the MIT one laptop per child (OLPC) initiative.

Bilel is an IEEE Senior Member. He was elected to the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Board of Governors (BOG) and the IEEE-SA Corporate Advisory Group (CAG). He served on the IEEE Standards Education Committee, the IEEE-SA Nominations and Appointments Committee, the IEEE-SA BOG International ad hoc, and the Technical Liaison from IEEE-SA to ITU-T and ITU-D.

Bilel contributes to the innovation and advancement of technology in the ICT Field. He has 22 granted and filed US patents in diverse areas: packet, optical, wireless, and quality of service.

Bilel received a BS. ’89, MS. ’92, and PhD ’95 degrees in Computer Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, USA.

Mohamed Jemni est professeur d’Informatique à l’Ecole Supérieure des sciences et Techniques de Tunis (ESSTT), Directeur Général du Centre de Calcul El Khawarizmi (www.cck.rnu.tn) et Président du Laboratoire de  recherche des Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication & de Génie Electrique (LaTICE, www.latice.rnu.tn).
Mohamed Jemni a obtenu l’Habilitation à diriger des recherches en Informatique de l’Université de Versailles, France, en 2004, le diplôme de Doctorat en Informatique de la Faculté des Sciences de Tunis en 1997 et le diplôme d’Ingénieur Principal en Informatique  de la Faculté des Sciences de Tunis en 1991.
Il a publié plus de 150 papiers dans des revues et conférences internationales. Ses thèmes de recherche s’articulent autour du Calcul à haute performance, les grilles de calcul,  l’accessibilité et les technologies éducatives.
Mohamed Jemni dirige actuellement trois projets principaux dans son laboratoire:
- Le projet de création d’une grille de calcul pour la recherche scientifique (www.tngrid.tn).
- Le projet Websign pour la communication avec les personnes sourdes  à travers le Web.
- Le développement d’un environnement d’elearning pour les non voyants.

Il aussi réalisé plusieurs études pour diverses organisations internationales comme l’UNESCO, l’ALECSO et l’Union Internationale des Télécommunications, et il a remporté avec son laboratoire plusieurs prix comme le la médaille d’argent dans la foire internationale des inventions Kuwait 2007, le Prix UNESCO 2008 pour le programme e-learning pour les personnes aveugles, le «Prix du Sommet mondial (WSA) - Mobile 2010" dans le domaine de l'inclusion sociale et récemment en Avril 2012, son laboratoire a remporté le Prix Google pour les jeunes chercheurs et la meilleure communication du Web Pour Tous 2012.

cslee.jpgChae Sub Lee, Chairman ITU-T Study Group 13
Chae Sub LEE has been working in the telecoms standardisation field for over 20 years. He has been involved in ITU-T standards development for the ISDN, GII, IP-based networks, NGN and IPTV. He served ITU-T activity as a vice-chairman of SG13 from 2001 till 2008. He shared his role as a Vice-Chairman of ITU-T IPTV Focus Group since July 2006 and as a Chairman of NGN Focus Group from June 2004 till November 2005.
He is now Chairman of ITU-T SG 13 which is a lead group of standard development on NGN, IPTV, USN/RFID, ITS, Ubiquitous Networking, FMC, Future Networks and Cloud Computing for the study period 2009 ~ 2012.
maaref.jpgSlaheddine Maaref, Director Central Corporate Strategy, Tunisie Télécom
Ingénieur Senior de Télécommunications, Promotion 1983 de Sup Telecom Paris. Possède une vaste expérience dans la Gestion des Affaires des Télécommunications. Mr Maaref a conduit la Mise en Œuvre des Principaux Projets de Développement des Réseaux des Télécommunications en Tunisie durant les 15 dernières années y compris le développement des Réseaux Optiques sécurisés, les Réseaux Fixes et Mobiles, les Réseaux Data & Internet y compris les études pour la mise en place des Data Centers de Tunisie Telecom et le lancement des premiers Managed Services (Cloud) ainsi que la Migration vers la technologie tout IP (NGN, convergence, double Play).
Il vient de réaliser pour le compte de l’UIT une étude sur le Cloud Computing en Afrique.
Mr Maaref est actuellement Vice Président du Focus Group de l’UIT : From Innovation to Standards.
Vijay Mauree, Programme Coordinator, ITU/TSB
Vijay received his first degree in Computer Science with Electronic Engineering from University College London, UK and his Masters degree in Information Technology from Imperial College, Science and Technology, UK. He is also the holder of an MBA from Cranfield School of Management in UK.
In June 2010 he joined the ITU-T Policy and Technology Watch Division in Geneva where he is responsible for the implementation of projects under Bridging the Standardization Gap programme and undertaking research on emerging ICT standardization activities for production of Technology Watch reports. He has already published two such reports on ICT as an enabler for Smart Water Management and the Optical World. He is also co-ordinating the work of the new Focus Group on Bridging the Gap: From Innovation to Standards which was set up this year.
Hela Ben Miled, INPDP
Héla BEY BEN MILED est magistrat au Tribunal Administratif.
Actuellement nommée auprès de l’organisme tunisien de protection des données, l’Instance Nationale de Protection des Données à Caractère Personnel, elle a également travaillé auprès du régulateur du marché boursier. Titulaire d’un Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies (DE.A.) en Droit Public, elle s’est spécialisée en droit administratif, en droit international et en droit de la bourse.
Elle s’investit également dans  le droit des données personnelles et a animé plusieurs ateliers et workshop.
Elle est  membre  de  plusieurs  réseaux  et  groupes  de  recherches  internationaux  menant  des  réflexions  sur  des  thématiques variées telles que le droit  des données personnelles ou le droit international.

Monique Morrow is currently holds the title of Distinguished Consulting Engineer and under the Office of the CTO at Cisco in addition to CTO Asia-Pacific. She has over 20 years experience in IP internetworking that includes design, implementation of complex customer projects and service development for service providers. Monique has worked for both enterprise and service provider companies in the United States and in Europe. Monique led the Engineering Project team for one of the first European MPLS-VPN deployments in 1999 for a European service provider.

Monique has presented at numerous distinguished industry conferences on the topic of MPLS.
At present, she is focused on the topics of the Internet of Things / Machine-to-Machine Communications and Cloud Computing.
Her interest and expertise in the topic of MPLS, prompted her to co-author several well-respected books; and other publications.
Monique’s numerous professional associations include the following:
Active in both the IETF and ITU-T SG 13, with a focus on Operations, Administration and Management (OAM).
The ITU-T SG-13 recently confirmed Monique as the Joint Coordination Activity (JCA) Chair on Cloud Computing
Monique is also ITU-T Vice-Chair for the Focus Group M2M Service Layer for Healthcare as confirmed on April 17 2012.
She is Liaison for and to ITU-T NGN and IETF IAB liaison.

​Jean-Pierre Muzard is a Business Development Manager in Cisco’s Global Service Provider organization. He has over 25 years experience in networking that includes design, implementation of complex customer projects and service development for service providers. Now he is responsible for leading Cloud and Managed service creation with Service Providers. He also contributes to Cisco’s overall product and solutions direction through strategic alignment initiatives and senior customer engagements.

​I have gained 10 years’ experience in ICT. I have been High Performance Computing Facility Coordinator for the first Supercomputer of Tanzania. I gained experience in designing ICT Policies and Strategies. I have gained technical experience in Internet of Things, ICT Policy and ICT Strategy Consultant, Management Information System, Supercomputing/High Performance Computing (HPC), Computer Networks, Web and Database Programming, Cloud Computing/Grid Computing and Curriculum Integration. I have gained experience in designing ICT Policies and ICT. I am a member of the technical team of Tanzania Education and Research Network (TERNET) and National ICT Policy Review Committee. I have presented on the following topics: Novel IoT Services and Applications for Society, Business and People (IST Africa 2012), Standards, Sustainability, Security; and Interoperability of Different Clouds (IST Africa 2012), Migrating to Cloud Computing ITU 12th Forum on Telecommunications/ICT Regulation and Partnership in Africa (FTRA 2011).

​Sami SOUDANI est le Directeur des Opérations IT de Tunisie Télécom. Sami est un ingénieur informaticien diplômé de la Faculté des Sciences de Tunis depuis 1996. Il a 15 ans d’expérience dans le domaine  IT au sein de Tunisie Télécom. Sami est un expert IT certifié CISSP, ISO27001:Lead Auditor, ISO27001:Lead Implementer et ITIL.

Selma Turki has been working for the past fourteen years for Global Technology Services started out with IBM Canada, where she took several key Business leadership and business development positions for Europe, Worldwide, CEEMEA, and MEA recently, a key growth region for IBM.
She has recently been appointed as the North-West Africa IT Services Executive, focusing on key themes such as Datacenter, Cloud, Enterprise Services and Security.
She is a Senior IT Architect for IT Service Management and Cloud, she is leveraging her technical, commercial and business skills sets to help NWA region grow.
Selma’s experience is based upon working on several engagements for IBM key accounts and clients around the world as a Subject Matter Expert on Middleware and for Service Management. She also helped develop and sustain key alliances and partnerships in Europe and worldwide. She is currently developing IBM IT services capabilities with key alliances and Business partners within the North-West Africa region.
Selma has also a vested interest in Cultural and Gender Diversity, she has been the Cultural Diversity Leader for BeNeLux for the past Four years.
Selma detains a Bachelor in Sciences, Software Engineering, from University of Quebec, Montreal and recently finished an Executive Business Management Diploma, at Henley and also undertook several executive educations and curriculums, in University of Berkeley California and several other IBM and academic institutions.

Fares Zekri works for Microsoft Tunisia as Account Technology Strategist.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Fares worked in multiple position for an Internet service provider ranging from security engineer to network and system architect. For the last 5 years Fares helped Microsoft’s customers in choosing the right solutions and technologies that supports their needs.
