Presentation Abstract
Title: Huawei Strives to Accelerate Digital Transformation and Jointly Build a Better Connected World
ICT plays a crucial role in the implementation of digitization and innovation projects aimed at improving our countries competitiveness to attract investors, and at making cities smarter and safer places for us to live in.
Thanks to its commitment to innovation in the ICT field and the expertise gained through the development of cutting edge technologies, Huawei already contributes to the realization of Smart & Safe Cities around the world. Over 400 million people in 100 cities and 30 countries use Huawei's solutions.
As for Italy, Huawei, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and CRS4, acting as operating arm for ICT research and innovation of the Region, have recently started a project to coordinate their activities and enhance methodology in order to design and build innovative ICT concepts for Smart & Safe Cities. This project involves local partners, research bodies and universities in Sardinia, improving their synergic dialogue and building on the collaboration started in 2015. Huawei and CRS4 will establish a joint Innovation Lab in Pula, at the headquarters of CRS4. The new research center will invest in Smart & Safe City projects.
According to Huawei, creating a healthy ICT ecosystem, consolidating local expertise and synergies between the public administration and the private sector, will play a key role in the success of such projects. This approach is part of Huawei’s global ‘Better Connected World' strategy intended to promote openness, collaboration and sharing among all the players involved, and aiming to build a digital open ecosystem to accelerate the digital transformation.
Huawei believes that supporting digital economies in different countries and sectors will have a major impact for the future, driving social and economic progress.
