Programme Specialist for Latin America and the Caribbean in Bioethics and Ethics of Science at UNESCO, UNESCO Montevideo Office. Medical Doctor, Specialist in internal medicine. She is Academic Coordinator of the Continuous Education Programme in Bioethics of the Latin American Network on Bioethics (Redbioética UNESCO), and Executive Coordinator of Steering Board of Redioética UNESCO. She has been Coordinator of the Bioethics Department of the Ministry of Health (Córdoba, Argentina) and of the Network of Hospital Ethics Committees (1996-2008). She has been the Coordinator of the Provincial Committee for Research Ethics (2001 - 2003), Member of the Council for Ethical Evaluation of Research of Cordoba and member of the Bioethics Committee of the High Court of Justice. She was a founding member of the Argentina Society of Bioethics. She was also a member of the Council of Ethics and Human Rights in Biomedical Research of the Human Rights Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice of Argentina. Member of the International Advisory Board of journal Perspectivas Éticas of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Chile) and of the Editorial Board of Journal Redbioética. She is Adviser to the National Committee for Research Ethics of Peru, as well as to other National Bioethics Committees in the Region. She has conducted and directed research projects on the subject of Bioethics and has many publications.
Especialista de Programa para América Latina y el Caribe en Bioética y Ética de la Ciencia de la UNESCO, Oficina de la UNESCO Montevideo. Es Médica, especialista en Medicina Internista. Especialista en Bioética Fundamental y Master en Bioética (Universidad de Chile OPS/OMS). Coordinadora Académica del Programa de Educación Permanente en Bioética, REDBIOETICA UNESCO, así como Coordinadora Ejecutiva del Consejo Directivo de la Redbioética UNESCO. Ha sido Coordinadora del Área de Bioética del Ministerio de Salud (Córdoba Argentina) y de la Red de Comités Hospitalarios de Bioética, (1996 a 2008). Ha sido la Coordinadora de la Comisión Provincial de Ética de la Investigación (Argentina 2001- 2003) y Miembro del Consejo de Evaluación Ética de Investigaciones de Córdoba, así como miembro de la Comisión de Bioética del Superior Tribunal de Justicia. Fue miembro fundador de la Sociedad Argentina de Bioética. Fue miembro del Consejo de Ética y DDHH en las Investigaciones Biomédicas, Secretaría de DDHH de la Nación (Argentina). Miembro del Consejo Asesor Internacional de la Revista Perspectivas Éticas, Facultad de Filosofía de la Universidad de Chile y del Consejo Editor de la Revista Red bioética UNESCO. Es asesora del Comité Nacional de Ética de la Investigación del Perú, así como de otros Comités Nacionales de Bioética en la Región. Ha dirigido y dirige proyectos de investigación en la temática y cuenta con numerosas publicaciones.
