Jérome Aucan is a research scientist within the French Institute for Research and Development (IRD), based in Noumea, New Caledonia. He is an engineer from the Paris engineering school ENSTA and holds a doctorate in Physical Oceanography from the University of Hawaii. With 20 years experience in the field, he has deployed tide gauges and wave buoys in many locations and has written numerous scientific publications relying on deep ocean pressure or temperature data.
