GUINENA Sherif

Sherif.jpgGuinena is the Chairman of ITU-T Study Group 2, “Operational Aspects of Service Provision and Telecommunications Management” since Jan 2013, and its Vice Chairman since 2004.
Guinena joined the National Telecom Regulatory Authority of Egypt (NTRA) in 2002 as Head of the Technical Affairs Department, and as Executive Vice President in 2003. Currently he is contracting with NTRA as an international telecommunications expert. He was responsible for developing the telecom market in Egypt, encouraging the introduction of new technologies and services.
Guinena represented Egypt in several ITU high level conferences and meetings, and was responsible for coordinating Arab and African common proposal to several of these conferences. He is now the ATU consultant for coordination of the African Common Proposals to WTSA-16. Guinena was the chairman of the Arab Standardization Team (ASTeam).
Before joining NTRA, Guinena worked as an R&D engineer at the Technical Research Department of Egypt for more than 32 years.
Guinena holds a Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering form Alexandria University, Egypt, and is a certified Consultant in Telecommunication Engineering by the Engineers Syndicate of Egypt. He has lectured at the “10th Ramadan Higher Technological Institute” in Egypt for more than ten years.
