Fatema Yousuf
Acting Deputy Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations

Ms. Fatema Yousuf serves as Acting Deputy Permanent Representative since January 2025. In addition to her responsibilities as interim Deputy, Ms. Yousuf’s files include the 4th Committee, the Middle East Process, Lebanon and Culture of Peace/ Tolerance.​

During the UAE’s 2022-2023 Security Council term, Ms. Yousuf’s files also included Iraq. Before joining the Mission to the UN in New York, Ms. Yousuf was seconded to the Prime Minister’s Office for in Dubai in 2020 for three months.

Additionally, she served as Desk Officer in the Arab Affairs Department at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also spent time at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in London 2012 for an internship.

Ms. Fatema Yousuf graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) and continued her studies, earning a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) in 2018. In 2021, she earned a Master’s Degree in Strategic and Security Studies from the National Defence College of the UAE.
