Biographies

Paul Lam, CFA, FRSA, is the Director, Corporate Strategy & Development for TuSimple, a leading L4 autonomous trucking company based in San Diego. Paul is responsible for the development of strategy, program management and special projects.

Prior to joining TuSimple, Paul was the Investment Officer and Strategy & Policy Officer (Digital & Technology) at Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in Beijing. He has developed the Digital Infrastructure Strategy and AIIB Infratech platform. Paul led and supported investments in major technology funds and projects across Asia. Examples include Sinovation Disrupt Fund, NIO Innovation Fund, Liaoning Smart Green Transportation Project, Guangxi Chongzuo Road Project (digital twin), etc.

Paul has worked with UBS AG, International Finance Corporation, and British International Investment. He has executed more than USD650m of principal equity and debt investments and advised USD2bn of corporate M&A transactions.

Paul spearheaded the G20 Infratech Agenda and was the co-author for G20 Infratech Blueprint and Stock-take under the Indonesian Presidency. Paul has various investment and corporate venturing experiences in technology, digital infrastructure, and capital markets. He is currently serving as the strategic board member for UK Digital Twin Hub and advisory committee member for World Economic Forum Global Digital Twin Cities.

Paul holds Mphil in Economics and Finance from the University of Cambridge and a Certificate of innovation-driven entrepreneurship from MIT.
