Summary: This new recommendation enables cable operators to provide any IP-based services such as SD/HD TV, 3DTV, UHDTV, interactive services, VoIP, and Internet access in coaxial access network. It defines the protocol stack architecture of HiNoC covering the physical (PHY) layer and media access control (MAC) layer. It defines the functional requirements for the high-speed data transmission in coaxial access network covering general functional requirements, requirements of PHY layer and MAC layer. It contains the scenario and use case of HiNoC as appendixes.
