Summary:
|
OTN supports transparent transport with guaranteed quality of service, and has become the dominant transport technology in operator networks Integrating QKDN into OTN can provide information-theoretic secure quantum keys for OTNSec application, ensuring OTN resilience against quantum attacks in the future.
This Recommendation specifies framework for the integration of QKDN and OTN, addressing overview analysis, integration modes, functional requirements, reference model, and overall procedures, to enable QKD-based quantum key applied to OTNSec encryption.
The Recommendation also analyses QKDN and OTN integration use cases such as carrier backbone, leased line, DCI, and mobile fronthaul/backhaul scenarios where high-capacity and mission-critical traffic requires enhanced security against quantum-era threats.
