Summary: Computing power network (CPN) is one type of networks that realizes optimized computing resource allocation, networking, computing service deal-making and provision, by distributing computing, storage and network resources [ITU-T Y.2501]. CPN ecosystem is composed of a variety of business players which are distributed in different area and in different security environments. CPN resource layer is where the resources reside that are provided by computing power network providers and network operators, and is responsible for providing the network resource, computing resource and service resource for other functional entities in CPN. ITU-T Y.2501 defines CPN resource layer, and the recommendations ITU-T Y.2502, ITU-T Q.4140, ITU-T Q.4141, ITU-T Q.4142 and ITU-T Y.CPN-CL-Arch all describe the interaction between the resource layer and other CPN layers. Therefore, The CPN resource layer needs to be further investigated. In this regard, we provide a Supplement to Y.2500 series: Computing power network resource layer. This supplement outlines the computing power network resource layer and specifies its potential framework.
