Summary: This draft Recommendation defines the requirements of digital identity wallet interoperability for smart city services. To support interoperability, the digital identity wallet system (DIWS) acts as a mediation and orchestration component. It resolves, translates, and adapts user’s credentials into formats and conditions that are acceptable to each service provider (SP) acting as a relying party (RP). Through the digital identity wallet interoperability, users can access multiple smart city services with consistent identity experiences, even when each SP enforces different policies and technical requirements.
