With the evolution of telecommunication networks towards virtualization, softwarization and multi-vendor deployment, telecommunication operation and management become increasingly complex and require higher levels of automation and intelligence. Effective policy management becomes essential to support consistent management of policies across components and domains, enabling timely policy provision and adjustment in response to changing operational conditions and service requirements, and thereby improving operational efficiency and decision-making effectiveness.
This Recommendation specifies functional framework, functional requirements and processes for policy management in telecommunication operation and management.
