Summary:
|
Digital twin technology has become a crucial component of smart city (SSC) systems, and enabling urban planners and managers to simulate, analyze, and predict various scenarios of urban development by creating virtual replicas of the physical urban environment, offering intuitive tools for management and decision-making. Its fundamental basis is the 3D model representation of physical objects in digital space.
Currently, the precision of 3D model representation varies across different digital twin systems, corresponding to different precision levels of visualization for digital twin systems. This draft Recommendation established a unified digital twin visualization precision levels classification framework, which can assist decision-makers identify the general requirements that different precision levels should meet, choose appropriate precision levels for the construction of digital twin systems, avoid unnecessary consumption of resource and cost. This can also promote the interoperability and comparability between different systems and projects.
