Summary:
|
Efficient management and control of equipment within buildings is crucial for optimizing energy consumption, enhancing operational efficiency, and achieving sustainability goals. Building Infrastructure Management Systems (BIMS) is a core component of a city's infrastructure. In the BIMS, there is a lack of interoperability between the building equipment and the management systems due to the conventional manner in which they operate in an exclusive and closed form. To respond to environment-related regulations such as greenhouse gas reduction, there is a need for efficient information sharing beyond simple building management functions. Unique identification of the BIMS equipment can contribute to the more effective management of the assets, thus leading to greenhouse gas reduction. Using Domain Name System (DNS) as a resolution method for identifying and resolving the equipment's identifier to a resource within building infrastructure presents an innovative approach that can streamline communication and management processes, thus boosting the transition to a circular city.
