Summary:
|
This Recommendation focuses on identifying and designating digital technologies to enable achieve resilient and sustainable ICT System deployments for adaptation to effects of climate change. ICTs can play a crucial role in supporting communities and systems to adapt to the effects of climate change. The deployed ICTs Systems also need to be resilient and sustainable in function and deployment models to enable wide range use and adaptation to the effects of Climate Change. The establishment of minimum requirements for use of digital technologies is an enabler for appropriate and seamless deployment in the target vulnerable areas and communities.
The effects of climate change often disproportionately impact vulnerable communities and hence a choice of appropriate digital technologies will be crucial for references. The effects of climate change make the affected areas to often lack the social and economic resources to enhance climate resiliency. This leads to a series of challenges that are barring communities from taking advantage of digital technologies in adapting to the effects of climate change.
