Summary: Due to variations in connectivity configurations of user networks, QKDNs and their use cases, it is not possible to develop a single universal figure for end-to-end QKDN connectivity for the performance objectives. Since QKDN which is supporting to user networks with various use cases should cover the connectivity from short-range in local area to inter-continental coverage in wide area, the diversity of connectivity configuration should be considered. The diversity of QKDN configurations leads to allocation principle for the end-to-end performance objectives of a QKDN that should take into account the distance and complexity of that configuration (see ITU-T Recommendation Y.3807). Therefore, the allocation principle and rule based on longest connectivity should be studied. This recommendation describes the allocation principle and rule of end-to-end performance objective for QoS parameters of QKDN. It aims to provide support for the implementation of QKD network to assure QoS requirements.
