Summary: Recent increase to the demand for transmission capacity has been promoting the use of the wider wavelength region. Moreover, the recent high-speed optical transceivers also utilize the wider wavelength region in the O-band and require to evaluate the accumulated chromatic dispersion at the operating wavelengths. However, the optical parameters are generally specified and measured at only a certain wavelength or a few wavelengths. This revision will provide a guideline for estimating the wavelength dependence of optical fibre and cables, particularly for the attenuation and chromatic dispersion coefficients.
