The revision of this Appendix I to Recommendation ITU-T K.70: software "EMF-estimator" v 7.01 includes a new install procedure required for users with a PC 64 bit Microsoft Access installed.
The EMF-estimator uses Microsoft Access databases for the user projects. During the time of the EMF-estimator development, the "Microsoft Access Database Engine 32-bit" was based on Microsoft's basic database. Now many computers use the 64-bit version which is not compatible with the 32-bit version and does not allow the usage of the EMF-estimator. The new version v.7.01 was developed to be able to operate in a 64-bit environment. In the 32-bit environment, the 32-bit version v.6.02 of the EMF-estimator should be used.
