Summary: Borrowing from the experience and the steps followed by the EAC region in the implementation of the ONA Framework It proposes SG3 Rapporteur Group on Mobile Roaming to take into account the ONA experience in the development on a new ITU-T Draft Recommendation on regional roaming frameworks. Based on the success of the EAC framework, other regions in Africa can borrow from their experience in developing a framework that shall see the reduction in the high IMR rates, for the benefit of citizens of their countries, the government and industry as a whole. The key lessons that can be drawn by other countries within the region from the EAC experience in dealing with the high roaming tariffs by following the steps below:
