Emetteurs-récepteurs de ligne d'abonné numérique asymétrique
La présente Recommandation décrit les émetteurs-récepteurs de ligne d'abonné numérique asymétrique (ADSL) sur une paire métallique torsadée qui permet la transmission de données à grande vitesse entre l'extrémité d'opérateur réseau (ATU-C) et l'extrémité d'abonné (ATU-R). La présente Recommandation définit divers canaux supports associés à l'un des trois autres services qui dépendent de l'environnement :1) transmission simultanée sur la même paire de signaux ADSL et de services vocaux (en bande vocale);2) transmission simultanée sur la même paire de signaux ADSL et de services RNIS tels qu'ils sont décrits dans les Appendices I ou II de la Recommandation G.961;3) transmission sur la même paire de signaux ADSL avec des services en bande vocale et transmission sur une paire adjacente de services RNIS-TCM (Appendice III de la Recommandation G.961).Ces systèmes permettent des débits de données vers l'aval d'environ 6 Mbit/s et d'environ 640 kbit/s vers l'amont, selon la configuration et l'environnement de bruit.La présente Recommandation spécifie les caractéristiques de couche Physique de l'interface de ligne d'abonné numérique asymétrique (ADSL) avec des boucles métalliques. La présente Recommandation a été rédigée dans le but d'apporter une aide permettant de garantir une interface et un interfonctionnement adéquats entre unités de transmission ADSL aux niveaux des extrémités d'abonné (ATU-R) et d'opérateur réseau (ATU-C) et de définir les capacités de transport de ces unités. Un fonctionnement correct sera assuré lorsque ces deux unités sont fabriquées et fournies de manière indépendante. Une paire téléphonique torsadée unique est utilisée pour la connexion entre les extrémités ATU-R et ATU-C. Les unités de transmission ADSL doivent prendre en compte diverses caractéristiques de paires de fils et d'imperfections usuelles (par exemple la diaphonie et les bruits).Les unités de transmission ADSL peuvent véhiculer de manière simultanée les charges utiles suivantes: des supports simplex vers l'aval, des supports duplex, un canal analogique simplex et un débit supplémentaire de ligne ADSL pour la mise en trame, le contrôle d'erreur, les opérations et la maintenance. Les systèmes prennent en charge au minimum un flux de 6,144 Mbit/s vers l'aval et un flux de 640 kbit/s vers l'amont.La présente Recommandation contient des prescriptions obligatoires, des recommandations et des options qui sont rédigées respectivement en utilisant le futur, le présent ou la forme verbale "peut". Le verbe "will" est utilisé dans la version anglaise pour désigner des événements qui se manifestent uniquement pour un ensemble de circonstances défini [la traduction française utilise en général le futur, le contexte indique les circonstances dans lesquelles s'applique la prescription (obligatoire) concernée].Les spécifications de performance appartiennent à deux catégories. La conformité à la présente Recommandation exige un niveau de performance défini par la catégorie I; les options d'amélioration de performance ne sont pas requises pour des équipements de catégorie I. La catégorie II exige un niveau de performance plus élevé (c'est-à-dire la prise en charge de lignes plus longues ou d'imperfections plus importantes). La conformité à la présente Recommandation n'exige pas un niveau de performance de catégorie II. La présente Recommandation définit plusieurs capacités et fonctionnalités optionnelles:
• suppression d'écho;
• modulation avec codage par treillis;
• latence duale;
• transport d'une référence d'horloge réseau;
• transport des modes STM et ATM;
• mode de trame avec débit supplémentaire réduit.La présente Recommandation est prévue pour permettre, pendant la phase d'initialisation, une négociation portant sur la compatibilité de l'interface utilisateur ainsi que sur l'interfonctionnement entre des émetteurs-récepteurs se conformant à la présente Recommandation et des émetteurs-récepteurs qui utilisent des combinaisons d'options différentes.
