The Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications of Montenegro joined the action of marking International Girls in ICT Day on 26th April with the aim of popularizing studying and education in this field, primarily among young population.

The Ministry marked this day by organizing the Panel for female students from three high schools: from Podgorica, Pljevlja and Nikšić. The Panel  was held at the University of Donja Gorica, in Podgorica. At the Panel, speeches were held by: Sandra Veličković, M. Sc., Secretary of the Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications, Milica Vukotić, PhD, Dean of the Faculty for Information Systems and Technologies at the University of Donja Gorica, Dr Dijana Kovačević, Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Montenegro and Snežana Živaljević, IT Manager at Telecom Montenegro.

The Panel involved talking about the opportunities and benefits which information and communication technologies offer to women and girls who decide to educate themselves and make their careers in this field. Ladies who have made successful careers in this field talked about their personal experience and shared their opinions on this issue with female students who are at a turning point regarding the choice of education and career. After the Panel, we paid a visit to renowned ICT company-Telemont.  Also, one of the aims of marking International Girls in ICT Day was to give female students from Montenegrin high schools the opportunity to spend time together and meet each other. Therefore, we organized a cocktail party for all participants.​​​​​
