Dear EGTI Members,
The 17th meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI) and the 14th meeting of the Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH) will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 9 to 11 September 2026. This year these meetings are again held back-to-back with the 21th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium (WTIS-26) which will take place from 7 to 8 September 2026. A final, third day will be dedicated for an in-person workshop for practitioners, following the high interest last year. The events will form the ICT Data Week. - EGTI: https://www.itu.int/itu-d/meetings/egti2026/ - EGH: https://www.itu.int/itu-d/meetings/egh2026/ - WTIS: https://www.itu.int/itu-d/meetings/wtis26/
The objective of this meeting is to examine the contributions received from members of the expert group, during the current working period, with a view to finalizing the items under discussion. The topics to be covered during the EGTI meeting will include a report of the subgroup on reviewing the IDI (jointly with EGH), a report of the subgroup on measuring Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the ICT sector, as well as a report of the subgroup on satellite-based broadband connectivity indicators.
EGTI meetings are open to all ITU members and experts in the field of ICT statistics and data collection. The documents concerning the meeting, including the preparatory documents for the discussions are made available in this Forum.
Remote participation and captioning in English will be offered for this meeting. Interpretation will be offered based on requests received through the registration form by 25 July 2026. (Due to the highly interactive format of the workshop on the third day, it will be conducted in English only and will not be available for remote participation.)
Registration to these meetings is mandatory and will be carried out exclusively online (whether attending in person or remotely). Please use the following link to register: >> https://www.itu.int/net4/ITU-D/CDS/meetings/registration/index.asp << Participants must first complete an online registration form and subsequently obtain approval from the corresponding Designated Focal Points (DFPs) for ITU-D event registration. An ITU user account is required for this purpose.
The invitation is available in all six languages on the ITU website https://www.itu.int/md/D26-BDT-CIR-0018/en
We hope you can join the productive discussions in Geneva,
with best regards, Daniel Vertesy on behalf of the ICT Data and Analytics Division International Telecommunication Union
