Summary: Due to its high resolution, wide field of view, and strong user relevance characteristics, cloud virtual reality services need to provide users with large amount, high-quality, and real-time content. Therefore, cloud virtual reality services have higher requirements for network bandwidth, as well as server and terminal computing capabilities. ITU-T Recommendation H.431.1 describes the functional architecture for cloud virtual reality systems and functions in different layers, including the optimized processing function module in control layer. This Recommendation further specifies the functional requirements and framework of optimized processing services for cloud virtual reality systems. As a type of service provided by cloud virtual reality systems, the optimized processing services for cloud virtual reality systems specified in this recommendation proposes an intelligent enhancement functional framework. This framework includes service quality improvement modules at the cloud, network, terminal sides and resource aggregation capabilities, clearly defining the data flow of enhancement process, therefore enriching the capabilities of cloud virtual reality systems.
