Summary: Recommendation ITU-T X.1250 describes baseline capabilities for global identity management (IdM) interoperability (i.e., to enhance exchange and trust in the identifiers used by entities in telecommunication/information technology IT networks and services). The definitions and need for IdM are highly context-dependent and often subject to very different policies and practices in different countries. The capabilities include the protection and control of personally identifiable information (PII).
