Summary:
|
Energy storage systems aim to store electricity when the demand is low and provide stored electricity when the demand is high. For efficient grid operations and satisfying increasing customers' demands, these systems should be distributed, and virtualized storages are essential to be dynamically allocated and operated for individual customers. Thus, this draft Recommendation provides the framework of distributed and virtualized energy storage systems. After introducing the overview of energy storage systems, this draft Recommendation mainly specifies requirements, architectural overview, detailed mechanisms and operations.
Therefore, this draft Recommendation covers the followings:
o Key characteristics and core technologies of distributed and virtualized energy storage systems;
o Requirements taking into account the energy value chain comprising various stakeholders;
o Architectural overview specifying related interfaces and functional blocks;
o Mechanisms for virtualization of energy storage systems;
o Service operations using energy storage systems.
