توفر التوصية ITU-T G.8013/Y.1731 آليات من أجل وظيفية التشغيل والإدارة والصيانة (OAM) في مستوي المستعمل في شبكات إثرنت وفقاً للمتطلبات والمبادئ الواردة في التوصية Y.1730. وهذه التوصية مصممة خصيصاً لدعم التوصيلات من نقطة إلى نقطة والتوصيلية المتعددة النقاط في طبقة الإثرنت (ETH) كما هي محددة في التوصية G.8010.
وتوفر آلياتOAM المعرّفة في هذه التوصية مقدرات لتشغيل وصيانة جوانب الشبكة والخدمة في الطبقة ETH.
