The fourth edition of Greening Digital Companies: Monitoring emissions and climate commitments raises the alarm about the sector’s rising carbon footprint, driven by the rapid expansion of digital infrastructure and energy-intensive AI technologies. The report powers the Greening Digital Dashboard, the interactive open data platform that monitors digital industry emissions and climate commitments.

A joint publication with the World Bank, Measuring National ICT Sector Environmental Impact: ARCEP Case Study – France, highlights the need for harmonized global indicators and robust data to guide sustainable digital transformation.

Together with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the World Bank, a new Green Data Centres for Policy Makers e-learning course was developed to make data centres more sustainable, climate resilient, and policy ready through practical strategies, frameworks, and real-world examples.

The second edition of the toolkit Policy practices for e-waste management: Tools for a balanced and fair circular economy, published in collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), provides policymakers and other industry actors with a practical, step-by-step guide for establishing an inclusive and fair e-waste management system that is based on the concept of extended producer responsibility. This second edition includes case studies of the three beneficiary countries Paraguay, Rwanda and Zambia.

A project with the Government of Colombia was launched to bolster global capacity building and knowledge exchange on e-waste regulation. This project convenes representatives from six participating countries: Colombia, Dominican Republic, India, Malaysia, Nigeria and South Africa, with activities such as study tours and webinars through 2026.
