BDT leads the work of Pillar 3, “Warning Dissemination and Communication” of the Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative, whose goal is to ensure that every person on earth is protected by early warning systems by 2027.

  • 12 countries held national roll-out workshops to develop EW4All National Roadmaps: Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Barbados, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Haiti, Laos, Madagascar, Maldives, Mozambique, Nepal, and Tajikistan.
  • National workshops will continue throughout 2024, focusing on the remaining countries selected for the initial roll-out.

BDT responded to the request from three governments following natural hazards, providing satellite terminals and phones to support relief efforts. 25 Thuraya satellite phones were deployed to Malawi and 10 Iridium satellite phones to Mozambique to support disaster response operations following Cyclone Freddy. 10 Iridium satellite phones and 5 Inmarsat BGAN terminals were dispatched to support humanitarian work in Papua New Guinea after the devastation caused by the Mount Bagana eruption.
