Table 9-3 – Structure of an RMC command
Field name Format Description
Command header 1 byte: [b7b6aa aaaa] aaaaaa = command ID.
(Note) The command ID is a unique six bit code that identifies the
command. See Table 9-4 for a complete list of commands.
b6 and b7 – Reserved for use by ITU-T
Command data See specific commands' descriptions.
NOTE – Command header is not present for the first command of the RMC message.
Table 9-4 summarizes the different RMC commands.
