ITU Headquarters: New Building Project


Following a decision by ITU Council, ITU held an international architecture competition for the design of a new headquarters building to be constructed at its current location in Geneva, Switzerland. Construction of the new building would start late 2020 or early 2021, with the opening by the end of 2023 or early 2024​.​​​

Award Ceremony

On Monday, 29 January 2018, the four winning laureates were recognized in a 
ceremony at ITU's headquarters in Geneva, where an exhibition of the top four designs was displayed and open to the public.

The four laureates and their jury-selected winning designs are:​

 First Prize:  Microcosme​ – Christian Dupraz Architecte Second Prize: Interweave​ – C.F. Moller Architects   Third Prize: Data City – Romain Ecorchard Architecte SAS​ ​ and Stähelin Architectes   
 Fourth Prize: Cour Varembé​ – Dürig Ag
