It is with deep regret that ITU announces the passing of Mick Maytum.
Mick served as Rapporteur of Q2/5 “Protecting equipment and devices against lightning and other electrical events” and Q8/5 “Guides and terminology on environment” and has contributed to many workshops and symposiums throughout the years. For over 20 years, he served as ITU-T Study Group 5’s expert on the topics of EMC, protection against lightning and resistibility.
He was a great friend and mentor for many ITU-T colleagues. His kindness and calm demeanor, even under challenging discussions, always brought such positivity to our meetings. He will always be remembered for keeping our group inline with ITU definitions and the author guide to ensure we published clear and strong standards for the industry.
The ITU-T Study Group 5 family lost an excellent friend and a great expert - Mick will be greatly missed.
