Vinit Ranjan is an officer of the Indian Post and Telecom Account and Finance Service (IPTAFS), 2020 batch, currently serving as Director (Wireless Finance) at Sanchar Bhawan, Department of Telecom, New Delhi. He holds a B.Tech in Electronics Engineering and hails from Bihar.
Vinit has a diverse professional background. He began his career as an Analog Engineer at Intel Technology, where he worked for 2.5 years in the R&D Division, focusing on designing cache memory at the 14nm VLSI Technology Node for Core i3 processors and contributing to PCIe link projects in collaboration with teams in Israel, Columbia (USA), and Penang (Malaysia).
He also spent nearly a year as a Nuclear Scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai, gaining expertise in Nuclear Physics and Power Plant Operations.
Subsequently, Vinit joined the Indian Telecom Service (ITS) after qualifying the Indian Engineering Service examination with an All India Rank of 5. During his 3 years with ITS, he completed a 2-year training program at NTIPRIT, Ghaziabad, and served as ADET (Compliance) at Bihar LSA, managing audits and addressing issues related to Electromagnetic Radiation, Minimum Roll Out Obligation (MRO), and Public Grievances.
Currently, in his role with IPTAFS, Vinit deals with spectrum management issues, including policy, charging, and assignment. He has been actively involved in the recent Spectrum Auction 2023-24.
