​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Prof. Sanjay Jasola is the present Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University. He was the founding Vice Chancellor of the University, the position which he held from November 2011 to November 2021. Subsequently, he was appointed as the Director General of Graphic Era (Deemed to be) University contributing to its growth and success during his short stint from Nov 2021 to May 2023. Prior to joining Graphic Era, Prof. Jasola was Dean (Academics), Dean (School of ICT) in Gautam Buddha University, Greater NOIDA. He has three decades of experience in teaching, research and academic administration. He has also served as faculty member in Wawasan Open University, Penang, Malaysia and as Deputy Director in IGNOU, New Delhi. He has conducted Open Educational Resources (OER) workshops in UK, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India. Prof. Jasola has provided consultancy to Commonwealth of Learning (COL) Canada, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre For Asia (CEMCA), UNESCO, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and to several Government agencies in India. He holds Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science and Engineering) from KNIT Sultanpur, Master of Technology (Computer Science and Technology) from IIT Roorkee, and Ph.D in Computer Science from School of Computer and System Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Prof. Jasola has published more than 80 papers in international/ national journals/ conferences and book chapters. He has guided a number of 21 M.Tech and 3 PhD students. He has been awarded the Gold Medal for Innovation in Open & Distance Learning by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for implementing the EDUSAT Network in the country under the guidance of Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (then President of India). He also holds a PG Diploma and Masters of Arts in Distance Education from IGNOU, New Delhi. Under the leadership of Prof. Jasola, Graphic Era Hill University has taken a few digital initiatives and is pioneer in integrating massive open online courses (MOOCs) in curriculum for all courses offered at university since 2014, for which he was appreciated in 2018 by then Union Education Minister​​
