​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Dr Preeta Sharan is currently working as Dean-Research in The Oxford College of Engineering, Bangalore. She is post doctorate from IIT Kharagpur, Ph.D from IIT Banaras Hindu univ. and currently a competent professor with 22+ years of experience in Education, Research, Student Mentorship including association with international universities and organizations. She is responsible for teaching B.Tech/ M.Tech students . She has guided 17 PhD scholars and 6 scholars are currently pursuing PhD under her guidance. She has executed many government / international agency funded projects. She has delivered projects for prestigious agencies across the world like Naval Research Board, DRDO, ICMR, IEEE USA and Govt. of Karnataka (KVGST), DST and AICTE as lead investigator. She has 8 patents to her credit with many other patents in process and 200+ research publications. She has visited facilities of leading universities like NTU Singapore, Tohoku University, Japan and University of Macau, Limerick university Ireland etc. She has published papers in premier journals and presented papers in IEEE conferences in Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and Macau. She has delivered lectures for VTU e-learning program via satellite for country wide classroom. She was selected among 75 women in field of STEAM as role models by the Principal Scientific Advisor , Govt of India and British high commission in year 2022. She has also received Innovation award from KSTA, Govt. of Karnataka. She is the primary focal point and owner for all IEEE related activities in her college as IEEE student Branch councilor. As SIGHT coordinator she is associated with IEEE Humanitarian Technology group. She has developed device concept for physically disabled person to operate computer which bagged best design award in international IEEE IMARC conference. Currently she is working on DST funded project for Medical Health Care Device.​
