ABSTRACT: "Digital transformation in public health:  A new paradigm for health systems strengthening and people-centered care in the post-covid19 era"
One of the greatest and fastest lessons learned to date with the COVID19 pandemic is that the digital transformation of the health sector is no longer just an option but an obligation. However, in order to move forward, health sector institutions and their workers must understand what is the impact of the digital revolution in public health interventions, how it is affecting the way in which scientists do research, and how to make health sector institutions innovate. But also, digital transformation means having a totally renewed set of skills for public health workers, and patients, to fully develop its potential within the information and digital society.

The objective of the presentation is to share PAHO/WHO actions in the Americas to position the health sector in the governments' digital transformation agendas. Likewise, this presentation will cover the concepts that must be understood by all actors of the health sector, public and private, in order to function effectively in the age of digital interdependence. It will portray a futuristic picture of how health systems and services could look like in the post-COVID19 times and the decisive role digital transformation will play to make sure no one is left behind.
