Duncan Sparrell, CSSIP/CSSLP/CCSK, is a cybersecurity evangelist with 40+ years of expertise in conceiving, developing and delivering state-of-the art software platforms. Duncan has published numerous articles, holds 7 patents, was awarded the Intelligence Community Seal Medallion, and the AT&T Science & Technology Medal. He has experience both as an attacker (eg 1991 Desert Storm cyber attack team) & as a defender (eg AT&T Chief Security Architect 2011-13). In his semi-retirement, he is a pro bono volunteer as CoChair of the OASIS Open Command & Control Technical Committee, a member of the NTIA Software Transparency Task Force, a US Delegate to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) SG17 on Cybersecurity; as well as attending and volunteering at various hacker conferences.
