Jennifer NELSON, MPH

​​​​​ Jennifer Nelson, MPH, is a Sector Specialist focusing on Digital Solutions for Health at the Inter-American Development Bank based in Washington, DC. From primary care clinics in Cleveland, Ohio to Guna Yala, Panama, Jennifer has dedicated her career to supporting communities, providers, and governments to use data to improve health outcomes. Currently, she co-leads SPH's Digital Health Transformation Strategy. From 2010 - 2018, she served as a member of the IDB'​s Salud Mesoamerica Initiative’s Coordination Unit in the IDB Panama Country Office as the Learning, Innovation, and Technology Officer.

Prior to working with SMI, Jennifer worked and conducted research in public health in Africa, LAC, and USA with Case Western Reserve University, the Pan-American Health Organization, and the Cleveland Department of Public Health. Jennifer has a Master of Public Health focusing in International Health and Health Policy and Management, and a Bachelors’ degree in Economics, Public Health and Spanish from Case Western Reserve University.
