Suhaidi Hassan

suhaidi Hassan-300dpi.jpegProfessor Suhaidi Hassan received his BSc degree in Computer Science from Binghamton University, New York and his MS degree in Information Science (with concentration in Telecommunications  and Networks) from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He obtained his PhD degree specializing in Networks Performance Engineering from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. He currently serves as the Professor of Computing Networks at the School of Computing, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). He is the founding chair of the UUM InterNetWorks Research Laboratory, which spearheads advanced research on Internet computing and protocol engineering in Malaysia. Prof. Suhaidi Hassan is the Chair of Internet Society (ISOC) Malaysia, and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), in which he actively involved in both IEEE Communications and IEEE Computer societies. He previously served as the Vice Chair of the IEEE Malaysia Computer Society, a member of technical steering committee for the Malaysian Research and Educational Network (MYREN), Member of the Malaysian ICT Deans Council (2007-2011). Dr Suhaidi was a WKD Foundation (Switzerland)'s Young Scientist Fellow at the World Knowledge Dialogue, in Crans-Montana, Switzerland (2006). He is also the ISOC Fellow to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).
