Aysegul Ozbakir

Associate Prof. Dr. Aysegul OZBAKIR has received her B.Sc. degree from City and Regional Planning from METU in 1998. In 2001, she completed her masters degree in GGIT (Geodetic & Geographical Information Technologies) with the thesis: “Monitoring Urban Land Cover/Use Changes through GIS  and Ozbakir.pngRS Integration: A Case Study in Elmalı Catchment Area”. She has received her PhD from University of Ottawa, Canada, with the thesis: “A New Model for Quality of Urban Places: Integration of Objective and Subjective Indicators Using Information Technologies” in 2006. Between 2001-2004, she worked for an international project for the neighborhoods of Montreal Island funded by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). She was a GIS specialist and worked for the “Greenbelt Protection Plan of Ontario” at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing between 2004-2006. She has been working as an academic staff of the Yildiz Technical University, Faculty of Architecture – City and Regional Planning Department since 2006. Her specialization fields are:

She has completed research projects funded by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and also be an active member of the Council as referee. She retains memberships in APA, IEEE, CAG and has been reviewer for IGARSS Conferences.
