Sixth Regional Workshop for Africa on "Standardization of future networks: What opportunities for Africa?"

Introduction
The International Telecommunication Union organized the Sixth Regional Workshop for Africa on "Standardization of future networks: What opportunities for Africa?"    , which was kindly hosted by the Telecommunications Regulation Authority of Côte D'Ivoire (ARTCI) and took place in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire from 26-27 March 2018. This workshop took place back to back with the meeting of ITU-T Study Group 13 Regional Group for Africa (SG3RG-AFR) meeting that was held in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, from 28 – 29 March 2018.

Objectives
This two-day workshop aimed to deal with hot topics of Study Group 13 in the new study period, mainly IMT-2020, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Big Data. Sessions were dedicated to discussing user experiences and successful stories from diverse African organizations with regard to the workshop’s topics.

Target Audience
Participation was open to ITU-T members and non-members, from regulators, operators, manufacturers, service providers and different stakeholders in the African Region, together with engineers and academic members. Students as well as a broad audience were welcomed to attend.
