Dr Payam Barnaghi is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Institute for Communication Systems (ICS) at the University of Surrey. He is a senior member of IEEE and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is an associate editor of the IEEE Internet of Things Journal, a guest editor of a special issue of IEEE Intelligent Systems on Web of Things and a special issue of IEEE Internet Computing on Physical-Cyber-Social Computing. He is a He is currently principal investigator and scientific coordinator of the EU FP7 CityPulse project (http://www.ict-citypulse.eu) on the Internet of Things and smart cities. His research interests include machine learning, Internet of Things, semantic web, web services, information centric networks and information search and retrieval.
