Nengcheng Chen is a professor of geographic information science of the State Key Lab for Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing, Wuhan University, China. He is also the leader of the Integrated Management for Smart Sustainable Cities in International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) Focus Group on Smart Sustainable Cities – Working Group 2. He has published 5 Books, one ITU-T technique report, and more than 150 papers. His research interests include Smart City, Sensor Web, big data, and location-based smart applications​
