Ramy Ahmed is a Senior Manager for the Digital Services Policies at the National Telecom Regulatory Authority of Egypt (NTRA). He has over 10 years of telecommunication regulatory experience especially in the areas of telecom media convergence, digitization, and digital services planning. In that context he recently formulated a number of ICT, digitization, and next-generation broadband policies and strategies.
 
Currently Mr. Ahmed actively serves as the Working Group 2 (WG-2) Chairman of ITU-T Focus Group of Bridging the Gap between Innovations and Standardization (Focus Group Innovation). His role in WG-2 is manifested in leading its activities in the analysis of innovations emerging in developed and developing economies in addition to devising new methods and proposing new techniques for mitigating the obstacles facing developing economies from bringing their innovations into standardization bodies.
 
 
Mr. Ahmed has many publications in the fields of telecommunication management, multi-objective optimization, smart radio systems, and development of generic communication architectures for transmission systems and DVB-T/S receivers. Additionally, he is the author of a book in electronics.
