TEWFIK Nevine

 
TewfikNevine.pngNevine Tewfik is head of research and studies at the IR division of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology- Egypt.  Ms. Tewfik’s portfolio includes a number of projects/ initiatives ; Egypt’s Green ICT program where she is coordinating the local and international cooperation dimension with different stakeholders including the government, private sector and international organizations.  Ms. Tewfik is also co chair of the Green ICT protocol committee in Egypt and Rapporteur of Question 15 in ITU SG-5 on ICT and adaptation.  Ms. Tewfik is vice chair of the Arab Regional group of SG5 and member of the African Regional group. Ms. Tewfik’s portfolio includes child online Protection and e- content strategies and policies in Egypt. 
 
For the past years, Nevine’s work revolved around the development and formulation of strategies and policies in Egypt and reaching out to the region, as well as engaging Egypt actively in the international dialogue on these subjects.  Ms. Tewfik represents the ministry at the OECD, as well as in relevant conferences and forums including the different rounds of the IGF.  Ms. Tewfik is also member of the ITU COP initiative, as well as Egypt’s representative at the ITU WG- CP. 

Ms. Tewfik is member of the ITU Dynamic Coalition on climate change.  She has also been involved in formulating Egypt's ICT sector for 2012- 2017.  With more than 20 years experience in the fields of socio political research, international relations and development, Ms. Tewfik has represented Egypt in a number of international forums and conferences, including the World Summit on The Information Society. Her field of expertise is oriented towards ICT4D, child online safety, green ICT, in addition to strategic writing, and political analysis. Ms. Tewfik studied at the American University in Cairo, where she received her BA and MA in Political Science.
